For this assignment, we are going to experiment with a variety of web-based publishing tools to create a web site using Blogger.com. An example site is located here: http://bloggereasypeasy.blogspot.com.

For your site, build a navigation page for following:

“Home” page

In Blogger, your home page defaults to posts, so, create a post that will be your home-page content.

Recommended content: text and image (event logo) from AAF-KC “Career Day Countdown” page:   http://aafkc.com/news/career-day-countdown-register-today

“Scribd” content page

Create a Scribd.com account. Upload a document (Word, PDF, or Excel). Create a page to host this content. Use the “embed” tool to embed the content on your page. Add an introductory sentence above your Scribd content.

“Videos” page

Choose one YouTube and one Vimeo video. Create a page to host this content. “Embed” both videos on this page; each should have a headline and introductory text.

“Photos” page

Create an account at Picasaweb.com. Upload at least 6 images into an album. Use the “link to this album” link to find the “embed as slideshow” code. Copy and paste code into a photos page. Include a headline and introductory text.

“SWFs” page

Upload at least 2 of your class assignments. You’ll need a host for your swf files; follow the instructions on the “SWFs” page on my demo site.

Your site should have the following elements hosted in the header, a sidebar or a footer:

• Site search – Use a “gadget”

• Twitter feed – Using a “gadget” add your own Twitter feed, or any other Twitter feed

• Share tools  -- Try ShareThis.com or use the HTML/Java Script “gadget” to add code from AddThis.com.

• Another gadget of your choice.

Your site should used a custom template: add your own photo and/or design elements.

Your site should be configured to be viewed in a moble format. See “template” tool.
